Trying out the high chair

Looks like a winner! Sorry for the poor lighting. I tried the flash on the point-and-shoot and it totally washed him out!

Visiting Daddy and lots of friends

Daddy got stuck working in Jefferson City all week, so we went to Columbia halfway through to meet and visit with him. While he was working, we ate lunch with Diana, talked with Jeremy, stopped to say hi to Brian and visited with Carolina and her family. Then, after work, Daddy met us and Aunt L for dinner at El Jimador's.
Sure was a busy day!

Snow! Snow! Snow! Snow! SNOW!

(Imagine pitches gradually getting higher with an increase in loudness a la White Christmas.)

Lounging 2

Soren Update: 2 months

Soren is 12 pounds 10 ounces and 24 inches long. The doctor said his length puts him in the 95th percentile for his age, and she knows it's his true length because he's not terribly hefty and just "a big boy."

We've switched Soren's formula to better deal with his gassiness, and it seems to be working pretty well. Burps and toots come more easily now, but sometimes Mama wishes Soren wasn't so free with the latter. Whew!

In general, Soren is a happy baby. He likes to kick, kick, kick when he lays down and stretch after naps and feedings. He's smiling more and really likes to play when Daddy gets home from work in the evening. His talking consists of coos now, and he likes to hold conversations with anyone who will listen and occasionally himself. He LOVES his swing that he got from the Merritts and has recently started playing on a baby gym that he got from his cousins, Ollie and Bella. Some days he's outstanding at tummy time; other days he could care less about building his muscles. He's also not a huge fan of reading yet. It's very rare that he makes it through a whole board book, no matter how short it is.
